Dear reader, Thank you for your interest in this Data Sharing Collection. This dataset was collected in the context of thesis work by Marloes Mak, within a research project funded by NWO (Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research; Grant number Vidi-276-89-007; granted to Roel Willems), entitled "'A girl fallen from the sky': Effects of sensori-motor and emotional simulation on aesthetic appreciation of literary narratives". The dataset was collected for the purpose of a study about the relationships between mental simulation, brain activity, and eye movement behavior. The codebook included in this dataset describes the available data files, variables, and the methods by which the data were collected. For more information about the eye tracking data and variables, we recommend consulting the Eyelink Data Viewer User Manual, which can be downloaded from the SR Research Support Website at https://www.sr-support.com/ This dataset consists of: - README.txt - the current file - LICENSE.txt - MANIFEST.txt - Codebook.pdf - key sub-alias.xlsx - containing the participant numbers, aliases, and scanner runs belonging to the experimental tasks - part_quest.tsv - containing all questionnaire data on the participant level (questionnaires that all participants completed once during the experiment) - story_quest.tsv - containing all questionnaire data on the story level (questionnaires that all participants completed twice during the experiment, once for each story) - wordchars_mdalb.tsv - containing the word characteristics for all words of story 1 (MDALB - The people who had everything delivered) - wordchars_signs.tsv - containing the word characteristics for all words of story 2 (Signs - Symbols and Signs) - Folder "bids defaced MRI data" - containing defaced MRI data, in BIDS data structure, including all relevant meta data - Folder "DataViewerSessions" - containing the preprocessed eye-tracking data (.evs) - Folder "EventFiles" - detailing the succession of all events in the experimental tasks (e.g., when were stimuli presented, for how long) - Folder "eyetracker texts": containing the images that appeared on the screen during the experiment, these are necessary for interpreting the raw eyetracking data - Folder "raw_behavioral" - containing raw behavioral data, per participant subfolder - raw eye-tracking data (.edf) - log-files from the scanner sessions (.log) De Meern, the Netherlands, December 29, 2022 Marloes Mak
